Description

Apple Cranberry Baked Brie is an easy appetizer with warm creamy cheese and a bright fruit topping that brings cozy holiday ideas to any table. It is quick to assemble and simple enough for beginners while still looking like the best centerpiece for brunch or a party. Fresh apple and cranberry add a healthy touch while maple and pecans create rich fall flavor. Serve it for a potluck or holiday gathering with toasted bread and crisp apple slices for effortless sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 wheel weighing 8 ounces Brie wheel
  • 1 medium apple diced into 1 half inch pieces Apple
  • 1 cup Fresh cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons Pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 half teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 quarter cup Chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped Fresh rosemary
  • 1 small baguette sliced Baguette
  • 1 additional small apple sliced Apple slices

Instructions

  1. Add the diced apple and cranberries with maple syrup and brown sugar and cinnamon to a saucepan so the fruit sits in an uneven layer with some berries tucked beneath the apple pieces. Cook until the apple softens at the edges and several cranberries burst into a ruby sauce while a few berries remain whole for texture.
  2. Place the 8 ounce brie wheel in a ceramic baking dish and spoon the warm apple cranberry mixture over the center so some fruit slides toward one side while the rind remains visible around the edges. Scatter the chopped pecans and rosemary loosely over the fruit so the topping gains crunch and green flecks without fully covering the cheese.
  3. Bake the assembled brie until the cheese feels soft beneath the rind and the fruit sauce bubbles in small pockets around the uneven topping. The rind should look slightly wrinkled and lightly browned while the pecans deepen in color and the cheese begins to bulge naturally at one edge.
  4. Transfer a single wedge of the baked brie to a white plate and cut through the rind so the creamy interior spreads into the chunky apple cranberry topping. Add a few baguette slices and fresh apple slices beside the portion with irregular spacing and finish with a small amount of the remaining pecans and rosemary.

Notes

Pro Tips:

  • Choose a firm ripe apple so the pieces soften in the sauce while still keeping enough shape to create a chunky topping.
  • Let the fruit mixture thicken until glossy before adding it to the brie so excess liquid does not make the rind soggy.
  • Keep the brie rind intact because it holds the melting center together and gives the finished appetizer a natural structure.
  • Serve the baked brie soon after it leaves the oven because the center becomes firmer as it cools and loses its creamy pull.

Storage: Store leftover Apple Cranberry Baked Brie in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Keep the bread and fresh apple slices in separate containers so they stay crisp and do not absorb moisture from the fruit topping. Reheat the brie in a small baking dish until the center becomes soft again while watching closely so the cheese does not fully collapse. Freezing is not recommended because the cheese can become grainy and the fruit topping may release excess liquid after thawing.
